Description

Coalpit Dam often has a heavy green weed mass through it, making worm fishing sucessful when using a float or bubble. The dam also seems to have an abundance of Corixa and Midge life in the water. Fly anglers can take advantage of this by using similar patterns.

From November to January green and brown patterns are useful. Fish are also sometimes taken on Damsel flies during this period. During the colder months anglers using feathered lures often have success with a Hamill's Killer or Mrs Simpson.

Access From Naseby-Ranfurly Road, turn off at Coalpit Bridle track to the carpark and picnic area. There are walking bridges and tracks areound the dam for good access.
