Adams trout fly

Description The Adams trout fly is a popular favourite devised in 1922 by American, Len Halliday. Usually tied on size 14 to 18 hooks. it represent a Mayfly. The Parachute Adams is very popular as it floats in the film and so is representative of a mayfly either laying eggs or emerging as an adult. It is also more easily visible to trout than the higher floating form.

Type Dry fly
Use Used widely throughout New Zealand that is fished at dusk when there are mayflies around. Can also be fished as a small wet fly and fished just subsurface.
Represents A great general mayfly imitation.
