Wickham's Fancy trout fly

Description The Wickham's Fancy trout fly is a palmered fly that has a long and venerable history. Originally from the UK it now has a place in new Zealand as a good evening Mayfly imitation. It is a good fly to use to represent a spent spinner (an adult Mayfly that has landed on the water to lay its eggs and is now fluttering in an attempt to get out of the surface film).
