Description Lake Paringa has tea coloured water(though visibility in the water is surprisingly good). Being surrounded by bush and swamp lands a boat is the only effective means by which to fish this water. Fishing a dry-fly along the bush-line is good in late summer to early autumn. The most popular m,ethod however is harling a fly close to the shoreline or trolling a spinner. The most productive water is around the small creeks that enter the lake.
Fish numbers and size Reasonable numbers of brown trout and a small population os sea-run salmon in the summer/autumn months
Access State Highway 6 runs along the southern shore.
Recommended lures Nymphs: Hare and Copper, Pheasants Tails, Hare's Ear, Gold Bead Hare and Copper

Dry flies: Small winged patterns such as Greenwell's Glory, March Brown or Adams or Royal Wulff and beetle patterns such a coch-y-bondhu or humpy

Green Beetles are effective in early summer and Cicada patterns from late summer are very effective.

Wet flies: Small wet flies such as March Brown, Greenwell's Glory or sedge emerger patterns work well

Spinners: Small bladed spinners such as Veltic or Mepps and smaller zed spinners or tobys when targeting salmon.
