Fish Jet

Fish Jet

Possibly one of the most unique fishing experiences on offer in New Zealand is the new Fish Jet which combines drift fishing down one of the country's most inaccessible waters with the thrill of a jet boat ride. Not only will anglers experience great fishing but will be treated to the beautiful scenery as they drift and jet through an area of great scenic beauty.

An adventure perfect for anyone, including families with children and novice first time anglers.

Fishing waters

The upper Waiau River between Lake Manapouri and Lake Te Anau. This is one of the healthiest fisheries in the country with around 500 - 600 fish per kilometre. Due to its isolation it is seldom fished.

Mark also offers guided fishing on a number of other rivers around the Southland, Fiordland and Te Anau region.

Fishing year Fish Jet provides fishing tours during the open season from 1 October until 31 May each year.
Take a Kid Fishing

Fish Jet are the sponsors of the Take a Kid Fishing event where children under 12 can learn from expert anglers the basics of fishing.

McGregors Pond is stocked with fish and is just out of Te Anau and the Fish Jet Take a Kid Fishing is well sign posted making it easy to find. Entrants recieve a goodie bag of snacks for the day and fishing equipment on registration.
