Turangi Children's Fishing

During the school holidays and on other specified days, children are taught to cast a fly rod and catch a trout at  the Children's Fishing Pond in Turangi, by volunteers of the Tongariro National Trout Centre Society. The fish is weighed and measured and a  certificate is issued. On  some days it is possible to have the fish cleaned and smoked at the centre.
